Veteran Service Officer (VSO) Partnerships

Independent medical nexus opinions for spinal conditions

Your Reliable VA Claims Partner

Spine Nexus Group works with Veteran Service Officers who are seeking medically rigorous, spine-specific nexus letters to support VA disability claims.

The practice functions as an independent medical evidence resource and does not provide claims assistance, advocacy, or representation.

Purpose of VSO Partnerships

Veteran Service Officers are often the first to identify when a veteran’s spinal condition may require additional medical clarification to establish service connection. Spine Nexus Group supports VSOs by providing independent, defensible medical nexus opinions for spinal conditions when appropriate.

All medical opinions are authored personally and grounded in medical record review, clinical reasoning, and accepted medical standards.

Scope of Services

Spine Nexus Group provides medical nexus letters only. The scope of practice is limited exclusively to spinal conditions, including cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and lumbosacral disorders.

This includes conditions such as degenerative disc disease, radiculopathy, spinal stenosis, spondylosis, post-surgical conditions, and related spinal pathology.

Nexus letters for non-spinal conditions are not offered.

Selective Case Acceptance

All cases undergo an initial screening to determine whether a spine-related nexus opinion can be medically supported. Cases that cannot be defended medically are declined.

This selectivity is intentional and preserves the integrity of the medical evidence provided. Spine Nexus Group does not guarantee outcomes and does not accept cases under that expectation.

Role, Collaboration, and Standards

Spine Nexus Group functions solely as a medical evidence provider. The practice does not replace the role of the Veteran Service Officer and does not provide claims strategy, advocacy, or benefits counseling. VSOs retain full responsibility for claim preparation and submission. Spine Nexus Group’s role is limited to providing an independent medical opinion addressing service connection when appropriate.

When a veteran is referred by a Veteran Service Officer, the process remains consistent with all cases. This includes an initial inquiry and record review, case screening to assess medical defensibility, acceptance or decline based on available evidence, and preparation of a formal medical nexus letter if the case is accepted. Communication remains professional, direct, and limited to medical evidence considerations.

Spine Nexus Group prioritizes medical rigor, ethical standards, and defensible reasoning over volume. Medical opinions are independent and are not influenced by desired claim outcomes. This approach protects the veteran, the Veteran Service Officer, and the integrity of the VA adjudication process.

Veteran Service Officers seeking clarification regarding appropriate referrals or the case screening process may submit an inquiry through the contact page.
